Terri Stuart - Post-Hurricane Harvey Fort Bend Recovers efforts

Terri Stuart is the Area Manager for the United Way Fort Bend Service Center, where she serves as the community liaison for the United Way of Greater Houston in Fort Bend County. Her focus is on developing relationships with collaborating partners and agencies to increase awareness and promote United Way’s mission in action in the Fort Bend community.

Following the disastrous impacts from Hurricane Harvey across Fort Bend County, the United Way Fort Bend was called on to help mobilize area non-profit agencies, churches and various other organizations to assist families in need. These efforts culminated in the formation of Fort Bend Recovers, the official Long Term Recovery Group for Fort Bend County as recognized by the State of Texas. Through her work with Fort Bend Recovers, she is assisting local organizations with collaborating and coordinating services in order to help guide mid- and long-term efforts to recover and rebuild. Terri also provides assistance to local residents in navigating the complex system of disaster recovery by leveraging relationships with key contacts at local, state and federal agencies which is a critical aspect of her liaison efforts.

Terri earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Houston. She has extensive experience in marketing and communications, fundraising, program development and finance with organizations such as the Catholic Charities, YMCA of Greater Houston, American Red Cross, Lupus Foundation, George Ranch Historical Park and Brazos Bend Financial Services. She and her husband Jess Stuart are both long time members and leaders in the Richmond Rotary Club.
